Consignment stock arrangements are usually arranged to assure continuity of supply to the customer or to reduce the customer’s working capital (or both). Whilst much of the benefit is to the customer, the supplier maintains his status, does not have to hold additional stock at his own premises, and has more freedom in choosing when to manufacture / procure additional supplies to replenish the consignment stock to customers.

Key Features:- The stock is managed by the customer. The customer draws from or replenishes the stock at will, any stock movements are recorded at pre-arranged intervals (weekly, monthly) either by a supplier visit or electronic communication. This triggers the replenishment stock to be delivered and an invoice for material used.
