Designed essentially for flexographic printing, our 3M Platemount tapes offer ease of use and outstanding quality performance. We have products containing various foam densities (cushions) and non-foam versions (thins) suitable for line work where high definition is not a requirement corrugated board printing for instance. |
3M’s Cushion-Mount Plus range of foam platemount tapes contain ‘easy-mount’ differential adhesive designed to simplify the mounting process and enhance the printing quality of process, solid or a combination. In addition, the ‘E’ series has cross-hatched micro-channel liners imprinted within the adhesive layer. This allows air to escape during setup and printing , reduces blemishes and eases eventual tape removal from plate and cylinder. Where line/tone detail is not needed perhaps in corrugated printing, then we have platemounting tapes to suit as well.
- Positioning – precision placement and re-adjustment to safeguard registration.
- Bonding - good grip, firm edge-seal, friction heat off-set, stability during long / high running speeds.
- Printing – dependent on edge / dot definition requirement and stereo size, we have the correct product you’ll need.
- Removal – simple unbonding from the plates & cylinders after print runs.

Of course due to the exact technical conditions that quality print work demands and your set-up, it’s very important that surface preparation is done copiously to assure unifomity across the roller. This will give consistent & optimum adhesion of platemount between both the back surface and the cylinder or sleeve. Therefore we recommend using our surface cleaner which will eliminate surface grease, oil or ink prior to mounting. |
