3M 4956 is a multi-purpose acrylic adhesive with a conformable, foam core. It can replace rivets, welds and screws. The fast and easy to use permanent bonding method provides high strength and long-term durability. It offers design flexibility with its viscoelasticity and powerful ability to bond to a variety of high and medium surface energy substrates. Mould to irregular surfaces with soft, conformable 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4956.
The tape gives a clean appearance and replaces rivets, bolts, screws, welding and liquid adhesives. It also bonds high surface energy substrates and provides handling convenience, cushioning, damping, and impact resistance. The strong, double-sided pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape with a PET film liner has an excellent shear strength that can be used in a variety of industries and applications. Other benefits include moisture, UV solvent and plasticising resistance and noise, shock and vibration dampening.
